Programmes

Towards 2015

In the final years of the MDGs from 2012-15, our Founder worked extensively with volunteers, initiating various programmes and creating outreaches to engage, build community collaboration, mobilise small funding partnerships, as well as technical and advisory support to groups of marginalised and vulnerable people in Nigeria including: children, youth, women, elderly, persons living with disabilities, persons living with HIV and Aids, hard-to-reach communities, widows, orphans and homeless people. The experience covered sectors including: environment, education, health, gender and women empowerment, SME development, agriculture, arts and culture, youth and sports and helped in conceptualising the bigger vision which birthed AlphaZULU Advocates in December 2014.

Key accomplishments in the period include:

Delivering free child rights education in public primary and secondary schools in partnership with private institutions, alumni and faith-based organisations;

Delivering youth and community integration programmes funded by CDAs (Community Development Associations);

Sensitizing public health users towards the elimination of unauthorized payments in primary healthcare system;

Creating a support network for people with disabilities to access healthcare and education support;

Piloting agricultural and confectionery businesses to train local women in smallholder enterprise and to fund our charitable activities.

In December 2015, AlphaZULU Advocates relocated its main office to the United Kingdom
